● Logline

When a young girl decides to explore the forest, she encounters something less innocent than what she thought. She must try vacate the forest, before she is caught up to.

● Narrative Overview

During an icy winter day, a young girl decides to go on an innocent trip to her local forest. Arriving at sunset, she meets an older friend who she is excited to see. They end up ending their conversation and heading separate ways into the forest, however as she walks away she hears a sudden scream from her friend. Alarmed, she runs toward the sound, to find nobody is there, her friend is gone and the only thing remaining is her hat. She looks around and calls out her name, and that’s where her phone began ringing: unknown number. Reaching into her pocket she lifts up the phone and presses answer. A rasp and deep voice answers and mumbles into the phone, distressing the girl, and after a few moments the phone cuts. She begins to panic, and searches for the way she came in, but the exit appears to be gone. She strolls for an hour until the moon rose, until she encounters a local hiker, a man in his early years. He offers to help her out and they begin walking together throughout the forest. She pauses for a moment as she thought she saw something in the bush, however as she does so Dan lets out a shout behind her. She turns around and Dan is gone. The phone begins to ring again and now something edges closer in the rustling bushes. She turns to run but trips, she beings screaming, but suddenly her screaming stops. It goes silent. One last time her phone begins to ring, but this time it lights up and with the word “Mum”.

Hannah – young girl going to the forest for some fun

Samira – older friend of Hannah

Creature – the goal is never explicitly said, however it observed to be a bloodthirsty and ruthless murderer

Dan – local hiker, willing to help Hannah out

● Film Purpose

As a horror, I’m aiming to build suspense and provide a short scary story about innocence meeting evil.

-> All underage actors had consent from parents and weren’t subject to overtime, alongside being supervised by a family member.
-> No music or sound effects were created by me, and I do not claim credit for them.
-> All footage used was recorded and is owned by me.

Film will be shown after 9pm to ensure audience is older (by watershed rules)

For my resubmission I created my narrative overview, improved my target audience section and completed my legal and ethical considerations.
