Narrative – the movie’s climax was when the girl shot herself, and it ended on a cliff-hanger as the Fisherman leaned over the dad. Conflict is developed once we see the Fisherman in the window, however it in never resolved and does not have the 3-act structure.
Character – the father is seen as quite dismissive, and the daughter is seen as your stereotypical child, with the Fisherman having no depth.
Mis En Scene – The Fisherman’s costume and mask is frightening; the weapon is clearly sharp and dangerous and the girl killing herself with evident blood on the floor gives a grotesque feeling to the whole film
Sound – eerie music, heavy breathing, footsteps etc.
Conclusion – classic cliff-hanger ending with good effects to build tension and an unexpected twist of the girl committing suicide
The horror genre tends to try to elicit fear and dread in their audience. They often feature elements such as supernatural threats, graphic violence, and suspenseful music to create a feeling of unease. A lot of horror movies take place in creepy places like abandoned houses or dark forests to make you feel like you're isolated and vulnerable. You'll often see characters trying to survive against a supernatural threat, like a ghost or a demon. Additionally, horror films often use a variety of visual and special effects to create a sense of terror, such as makeup and prosthetics to create monstrous creatures or CGI to create supernatural events.

The classic pink teddy bear which stands out, can be used as a final shot, as it is left in the mud in the middle of the forest.
Stereotypical “hysteric” character is almost always a woman, but there are some notable exceptions to this rule. They seem to freak out about everything that happens, whether hearing strange but innocuous noise or something more serious. In this case, it can be translated to a young girl, who hears a sound and runs in fright.
Subgenres: The horror genre can be broken down into several subgenres, each with its own unique characteristics and themes. I will be focusing on two main subgenres, the first being Haunted house films. These films take place in a haunted or otherwise supernatural location, and often feature a group of characters trying to survive or escape the terror. Examples include "The Haunting" (1963) and "The Amityville Horror" (1979). The second genre is Monster films which feature a terrifying creature or monster as the main antagonist. Examples include "King Kong" (1933) and "Jaws" (1975).
